September 29, 2014

Hello!
Well my week was great. We are actually gonna baptize another investigator this week. She had to get married first (which she did Saturday). Her name is Yoselin and she is so pilas. Well here is how my week went. Monday was P-Day and so we just chilled and then went to a Noche de Hogar. On Tuesday we have a multi-zone conference. And President Smith is truly inspired of God. He knows what he is doing. And so he was gonna give a talk but he said that before he spoke, he wanted to chose 4 people to give their testimony. There were about 60-80 people there. And guess who he chose.......................me! Oh it was so great. I got up there and I bore my testimony. I was a little nervous but I felt the Spirit up there with me. The multi-zone meeting lasted about 6 hours. But it was so great. On Wednesday, We went to teach a new investigator. But she forgot and wasn't at her house, but her daughter was and so we started teaching her. She is a new investigator. We taught her about the temples. And if you are wondering, my spanish is awesome!jajajjaaa... I cant want until yall hear it at Christmas. I think you will be surprised. On Thursday, We went with some recent converts. They are the Familia Mazariegos. They are so great. They are the suegros of the girls who is getting baptized this week. They keep supporting her in the choice to be baptized. On Friday, we contacted a lot. We didn't have a lot of success, but I learned a lot from it. The failures I have had are that we get rejected but that is the way I learn. learn from my failures. It is so great. The 2 words that a missionary in Guatemala hates to hear are ¨Fijase que¨ because that means they are making up an excuses to not listen to us, but it´s kinda funny to hear. On Saturday, we had the marriage of Yoselin which was a long wedding. It was great though. Me and my comp got to be the servers. We served the drinks and the food. Jajajaj it was so fun.  I am also making my own ties now. I already have 7 corte ties. They are so awesome! I love them. By the way I was eating breakfast  the other day when my friend told me that the Cowboys beat the Saints. Oh I was so happy! The cowboys will be champions this year. Ask Andy to record the games because I will watch them when I return.  The only real problem I have are the dogs. They are everywhere! But I haven´t been bitten yet. And I hope I won´t be jajaja. I will be careful mama.
 Love,
Elder Chicas

These kids are Wilson (the older one), Jeremy (the skinny one) and Christopher (the baby). They are part of la familia Hernandez. I love that family so much. They are great.

September 22, 2014

Dear Family and Friends,

First I want to say that I am sorry for my ¨lack of info¨emails. And so I will try do better jajaja.

Well this week was a week of mucho exito.

Monday we had P-Day and we played capture the flag as a zone. Oh it was so much fun. I could play capture the flag all day if I was allowed to.

Tuesday we went to contact a reference that we received from a member. But she didn´t get a name or phone number. So we were like wow that is a great reference jajaja. But she told us around where she lived and that she had a blue door. So that day we went and contacted just blue doors for about 2 hours. We contacted 4 blue doors. And with those 4 doors we didn´t find the woman but we found 4 more investigators. That was so awesome. The Lord had us contact those doors because there was someone there waiting to hear from the missionaries. Then later that day we went contacting for 2 more hours. We got 3 new investigators from that.

Then on Wednesday we had a zone meeting. We just met and learned how to improve the work. Then we went to a sister´s house to share a a little message with her. We were just there for about 15 minutes but we had a powerful lesson. Then we went to a less active´s house because it was her birthday. She was surprised that we came. She was so happy to see us. At first we planned to share a message then leave which would´ve took about 30 minutes. But then after the message she said that she would love to have us stay and eat with her family. So we stayed and that made her so happy.

On Thursday we went to teach the final lesson to the girls who were gonna be baptized. The final lesson they needed was on tithing. So we taught it.

Then on Friday we had the interviews. The DL (district leader) said they were so pilas and that they were so ready to be baptized.

Then Saturday they were baptized. Oh I was so nervous. But I did it and it was awesome. They were so happy but me and my comp were as happy as them. They are so great. And now we are working with their parents. Their dad has 2 weeks without drinking. We are working so hard with him. We want him to quit so that he can be happy with his family. His family is so happy that he hasn´t drunk. They thank us a lot. But it isn´t us that is making him quit. It is the hand of the Lord helping him. And it is also the example they are putting for him.

Then on Sunday we confirmed them as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Then after church we were talking with that family. And a member came to them and asked the parents why they weren´t members yet. The mom said we are but we just haven´t been baptized.....................yet. They want to be baptized but we are gonna go one more week and see if the husband can really give up drinking. Oh I know they will be baptized one day. Even if I am not the one who baptizes them, I know they will be members one day. Well thats been my week.

Love,
Elder Chicas

September 15, 2014

Well the work is progressing. This Saturday we have 3 baptisms. Then we have another one next Saturday. I love working with these people. It is so awesome.

I am aslo so so so proud to be the older brother of 2 strong, young athletes. I am sure that they are tired. But it will all pay off when they both have 6 packs jajaja. I love these pictures . Keep sending me pictures weekly.

The great thing about the mission is that it prepares you for life. It teaches me that I will have to work with people that I might not like sometimes, how to use my money, and how to use my time.

That is Hermano Hernandez. And no I didn´t say the pledge because I didn´t know it know it jajaja. And the celebrations are great. The fair is in my area. This fair is apparently the biggest fair in Central America and I live about 15 minutes from it jajajaja.

So next week I will send baptism and fiesta pictures. Bye I love you.

Hey,

Today I will write in english so that I don´t forget it jajaj.
I am glad to that y'all still got pictures last week. I am so proud to have 2 little brothers who are so awesome. Andy, I´m sure comes home exhausted from band in the morning and the running in the evening. Wow!!! That just blows my mind. Tony, I´m positive will excel in football. He is fast and always has a great attitude. With a great attitude, anything can be done. And I am so glad to hear that y'all got my letter. That makes me super happy. Thanks for the photos. Mama, I love you and I miss you. I hope you are doing great. I hope the kids in school are being good.
It is so great to hear from you. I always love receiving emails from y'all. And jajaj I know it seems like it was just yesterday that y'all dropped/abandoned me at the airport lol. I can´t believe the time has gone by so fast.  I have worked hard to do the best I can and put all of my trust in the Lord. And He has surely blessed me. He gave me a great family like y'all to support me and love me. And I am so thankful to Him for that. Y'all are the best family ever!!! I love the pictures Marilyn. I have the family picture of us at graduation on my desk. I see it everyday and I thank God for y'all. Ive been studying and working, and all of the effort is paying off. I challenged 3 people to baptism this past week and they accepted. My companion challenged another person. So we have 4 baptisms set. 3 for the 20th and 1 for the 27th. We will continue to work hard to maybe have more this month. This mission is the best. I absolutely love it!
Love,
Elder Chicas

Hola,
Y me jajaj me gusta esa troquita.
We walk so much. You could send a pedometer to see how much we walk. Que bueno que Antonio este en el equipo. El va ser un campeón. Pues cuando yo regrese yo voy a manejar la troquita. Yo soy grande come el dodge jajajajaja
Aqui nos dan MUCHA comida cada día. Los miembros aman a los misioneros. Jajaj pues los misioneros son siervos del Señor. Pues yo amo a los miembros de aquí y yo se que los misioneros allá aman a las Familia Chicas
I love you mother. I love you father.

Thanks for all of the support!
I won´t forget the camera next week
 Con mucho amor,
